USPS delivery time calculator
Estimate an earliest and latest delivery date from the USPS acceptance date and published domestic service range. Regular-service estimates skip Sundays and USPS holidays; Priority Mail Express uses its calendar-day standard.
How the delivery estimate works
For services stated in business days, the calculator starts with the day after acceptance and counts Monday through Saturday. It skips Sunday, the USPS holiday dates generated for each year and any extra dates you enter. The result is a planning window, not live tracking.
earliest date = acceptance date + minimum eligible delivery days
latest date = acceptance date + maximum eligible delivery days
Priority Mail Express is different: USPS publishes a 1–3 calendar-day standard, so this calculator adds calendar days and does not remove Sundays, holidays or custom closures. The actual Express commitment depends on origin ZIP Code, destination ZIP Code and acceptance date.
USPS service ranges used
Source: USPS domestic delivery standards, checked October 8, 2026. The official 2026 postal holiday list was also checked. Dates in other supported years use the same calendar rules and are not independently verified annual USPS calendars.
| Service | Range used | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Priority Mail Express | 1–3 calendar days | Guaranteed service, but the specific commitment depends on ZIP Codes and acceptance date. |
| Priority Mail | 2–3 business days | Not guaranteed. The calculator offers the longer published ranges for selected noncontiguous destinations. |
| First-Class Mail | 1–5 business days | Not guaranteed; applies to eligible postcards, letters and flats. |
| USPS Ground Advantage | 2–5 business days | Not guaranteed. Hazmat, live animals and noncontiguous routes can have longer standards. |
| Parcel Select | 2–8 business days | Not guaranteed; exceptions apply outside the contiguous United States. |
| Media Mail and related Package Services | 2–8 business days | Not guaranteed; eligibility and geographic exceptions apply. |
| USPS Marketing Mail | 3–10 business days | Not guaranteed. |

- Calculate the window and compare it with the expected date on the receipt or tracking page.
Frequently asked questions
Does USPS deliver on Saturday?
Saturday is counted for regular domestic delivery estimates. Sunday is excluded for the regular services in this tool. USPS states that Priority Mail Express and Amazon parcels are the mailpieces delivered on Sunday.
Are postal holidays excluded?
Yes for business-day services. The calculator generates New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. When a fixed-date holiday falls on Sunday, the following Monday is also excluded. USPS notes that normal deliveries still occur on the Friday before a Saturday holiday.
Is the acceptance date day one?
No. The first possible delivery day is counted after the acceptance date. If you only printed a label, wait until USPS has actually accepted the item before using that date.
Why is there no exact date from ZIP Codes?
USPS has an official service-standards API and ZIP-to-ZIP tools. This page intentionally does not imitate a live USPS quote without that data. It applies only the published ranges selected in the form.
What if the latest date has passed?
Use the official tracking number if one exists. USPS advises checking its delivery standards and tracking before contacting the shipper or local Post Office; delays can occur even when a service range has elapsed.
