Net worth formulas
- Net worth: total current market value of assets − outstanding liabilities.
- Financial assets: cash + taxable investments + retirement accounts.
- Readily liquid assets: cash + taxable investments; retirement accounts and physical assets are excluded.
- Conservative liquid net worth: readily liquid assets − all liabilities.
- Real-estate equity: primary and other property values − mortgage − home-equity debt.
- Debt-to-assets ratio: total liabilities ÷ total assets.

Important limits
Use realistic current sale values, not original purchase prices. This calculator does not estimate selling costs, capital-gains or income taxes, early-withdrawal penalties, account restrictions, jointly owned percentages, pensions, insurance benefits or future appreciation. “Liquid” is a simplified classification and actual access, taxes and transaction time vary.
