Clock Out Time Calculator
Calculate what time to clock out from your clock-in time, required paid hours and unpaid breaks. Add the current time to see how long remains or how far past the target you are.
Clock-out time formula
Clock-out time = clock-in time + required paid time + unpaid break time.
All values are converted to minutes after midnight. If the result reaches or passes 24:00, it wraps to the next calendar day and the output labels the day offset. An optional current time is compared with the unrounded target to show time remaining or time past the target.

Limits and interpretation
- Paid time must be greater than zero and cannot exceed 24 hours.
- Unpaid breaks can total 0–720 minutes; the complete clock span cannot exceed 48 hours.
- Do not add paid breaks because they are already part of paid time.
- The automatic current-time option treats a clock time earlier than clock-in as occurring the next day.
- No rounding, grace period, overtime rule, time-zone conversion, daylight-saving adjustment or employer policy is applied.
- Use the timekeeping system and policies required by your employer; this calculator does not create or verify a payroll record.
Frequently asked questions
What time should I clock out for eight hours with a 30-minute unpaid lunch?
Add eight hours and 30 minutes to the clock-in time. Starting at 8:00 AM gives a target of 4:30 PM.
Should a paid break be added?
No. A paid break is part of the paid target. Add only time that does not count toward paid hours.
Does the calculator handle overnight shifts?
Yes. Results after midnight are marked as occurring the next day or with a larger day offset.
Does it calculate overtime pay?
No. It calculates a target time only. Overtime eligibility, rounding and pay rules depend on law and employer policy.
