What the percentages mean
Win is the share of simulations in which your hand strictly beats every opponent. Tie is the share with at least one equal best hand and no better opponent. Equity splits a tied pot evenly, so a two-way tie contributes one-half of a win.
The calculator uses a standard 52-card deck and Texas Hold’em high-hand rules. Unknown community cards and every opponent hand are drawn without replacement. Opponents are modeled as random hands, not strategic ranges.
How the poker odds are calculated
For each trial, the calculator deals all unknown cards, evaluates every combination of five cards available from the seven-card hand and keeps the strongest rank. Hands are compared by category and then by the relevant kickers. The categories, from strongest to weakest, are straight flush, four of a kind, full house, flush, straight, three of a kind, two pair, one pair and high card.
A seeded Monte Carlo sample makes the same inputs reproducible. It is an estimate rather than exhaustive enumeration. Increasing the simulation count usually reduces sampling noise but takes more processing time.

Frequently asked questions
Can I calculate preflop poker odds?
Yes. Leave all community cards unknown. The calculator deals a complete five-card board during each trial.
Can I enter only one or two flop cards?
No. Texas Hold’em reveals the flop as three cards. Enter either none or all three. The turn requires a complete flop, and the river requires the turn.
Why can the result differ from another poker calculator?
Sampling size, opponent ranges and assumptions can differ. This tool uses random legal opponent hands and a reproducible Monte Carlo sample.
Does tie percentage count as a full win?
No. Equity divides a tied pot by the number of tied players. Win percentage counts only outright wins.
