Paid advertising calculator
CPC Calculator
Calculate cost per click from campaign spend, estimate clicks from a budget, or find the budget required for a click goal.
CPC results
Cost per click (CPC) shows how much advertising spend was paid, on average, for each click. This calculator also reverses the formula to estimate click volume from a budget or the budget needed for a click target.
CPC formulas
Cost per click: CPC = campaign spend ÷ clicks
Estimated clicks: clicks = budget ÷ target CPC
Required budget: budget = desired clicks × target CPC
The calculator also displays the cost of 100 and 1,000 clicks and the number of clicks available per 100 currency units. These are simple scale conversions of the same CPC, not additional performance assumptions.
How to use the calculator
- Select the value you want to calculate.
- Choose a currency for display. All monetary inputs must use that same currency.
- Enter the two active values. The field not needed for the selected formula is disabled.
- Select Calculate CPC and compare the result with your campaign reporting period and attribution scope.

| Inputs | Calculation | Result |
|---|---|---|
| US$1,200 spend and 600 clicks | 1,200 ÷ 600 | US$2 CPC; US$200 per 100 clicks; 50 clicks per US$100 |
| US$2,500 budget and US$1.75 target CPC | 2,500 ÷ 1.75 | 1,428.57 theoretical clicks; 1,428 whole clicks; US$1 unused |
| 2,000 desired clicks at €0.85 CPC | 2,000 × 0.85 | €1,700 required budget; €85 per 100 clicks |
How to interpret CPC
A lower CPC buys more clicks from the same budget, but it is not automatically better. Click quality, conversion rate, revenue, margin, attribution and fraud can matter more than the click price alone. Compare campaigns only when the date range, channel, audience, placement and cost scope are consistent.
The estimated-click mode shows a fractional planning result and the maximum whole clicks affordable at the entered CPC. Real ad platforms use auctions, pacing, bid adjustments, taxes and fees, so actual clicks and spend can differ.
Limits and assumptions
- Spend and budget must be greater than zero and no more than 1 trillion currency units.
- Recorded or desired clicks must be whole numbers from 1 to 1 billion.
- Target CPC must be greater than zero and no more than 1 billion currency units.
- Calculated monetary outputs and theoretical clicks are limited to 1 trillion.
- Currency selection changes formatting only and does not convert exchange rates.
- Results exclude platform-specific taxes, agency fees, invalid-click adjustments and attribution differences unless already included in the spend entered.
Important: this is an educational campaign-planning tool, not a forecast or guarantee of traffic, conversions, sales or profitability.
Frequently asked questions
What is a good CPC?
There is no universal good CPC. A sustainable value depends on conversion rate, customer value, gross margin and campaign goals. A higher CPC can be worthwhile when the resulting clicks create more valuable outcomes.
Is CPC the same as CPA?
No. CPC divides spend by clicks. Cost per acquisition divides spend by conversions or customers. A campaign can have a low CPC and a high CPA if few clicks convert.
Does this calculate a maximum bid?
No. It calculates averages and planning totals from values you enter. Platform bids, auction prices and final average CPC can differ.
Why can estimated clicks include a decimal?
The decimal is the direct planning ratio of budget to CPC. Because actual clicks are whole events, the calculator also shows the maximum whole clicks affordable and the remaining budget.
